The Lighthouse Project Navigating women and families through the emotional journey of parenthood
The Lighthouse Project is aimed at perinatal mental health and allows women and their families, during a pregnancy or after a pregnancy to access Mental health nurses specifically trained and with extensive expereince in ante and postnatal depression and non-directive pregnancy counselling skills. The outreach service allows women to be seen in their own home to improve better outcomes.
Services
Individual 1-1 support within a Recover Australia Recovery Centre or within the home if appropriate.
This is 1-1 support that can be delivered within our Recovery Centres or in some case within the mothers home. This allows mothers the space to explore their feelings in a safe and non- judgmental space and your clinician specialises in perinatal mental health.
This can be accessed via the Mental health Nurse Incentive Program which means that the service is free and there is no yearly limit to the amount of time you see one of our specialised perinatal mental health clinicians. see MHNIP page for referral pathway
Group Support - MOMS -
Mums Offering Mums Support
This allows mothers who have experienced PND to come together and share their experiences in a safe and non-judgemental space. This is facilitated by a worker but is peer support aimed.
There is no fee for this service and currently will run from our Northern branch
Group Therapy - Beating the Bubby Blues
6 weeks clinical support group ran by trained clinicians looking at developing coping strategies and building resilience for mother who have experienced PND.
There is no fee if referred under the MHNIP a fee may be attracted if not
Circle of Security - Parent Education

The Circle of Security® integrates over fifty years of early childhood attachment research into a video-based intervention to strengthen parents’ ability to observe and improve their caregiving capacity. Attachment theory, through the Circle of Security®, offers clear, individualized pathways for providing a secure relationship between parent and child.
This can be delivered individually or in groups and does not attract a fee if referred under the MHNIP

All groups are started when enough participants have expressed an interest
Peer support group requires a minimum of 3 to start and Group therapy requires minimum of 5 max of 10.
