Mental Health Nurse Incentive Program
The mental health nurse incentive program is accessible to all GP clinics, Private psychiatrists and is funded by the Department of Health and aging and is administered by Medicare. Patients are not charged for the services they access and there is no annual limit to the amount of consultations they recieve, similarily, there is no expense for the GPs or Private Psychiatrists wanting to engage one of our credentialed mental health nurses.
How GPs and Psychiatrists can access the program and refer patients
1. Contact one of the directors to arrange a meeting and we will attend your clinic at your convenience and supply all documents required. We have expert knowledge in the Medicare Guidelines and all the additional Item numbers medicare attach to this incentive.
2. Once the Eligible organisation documents are signed the paperwork generally takes 2-3 weeks for Medicare to generate an Eligible organisation number for your GP clinic or Private Psychiatry consulting rooms.
3. Once this number is obtained referrals from all doctors within the practice can begin
4. GPs are required to provide a current mental health plan Item 2710 with the Recover Australia referral form but psychiatrist are not, therefore a supporting letter is appreciated.
